Why Felipão is the best man for England

Why do I think Big Phil is the best man to take over the England job? Simply put he's better than all the other candidates and he's better than Sven. I think Scholari's style will sit well with the England fans too. He knows what he wants and he knows how to get his way with millionaire players. Unlike Sven who's allowed Beckham and co to run the team.

People have been trying to compare other candidates for the England job with Felipão but comparisions just don't fit. How can you compare managers who've never won a trophy with a guy who's won trophies domestically in Brazil, internationally with Brazil and has coached Portugal to the highest standard? Big Phil knows what managing England means. He knows how to form a team that can be better than the sum of it's parts. He'll play to England's strengths rather than playing to the whims of overpaid rich boys.

Let's hope the FA can get Felipão to sign up because it's England's best hope of winning something.

River edge Corinthians in 3-2 thriller

5 goals and 2 red cards in a game that saw River Plate edge out Brazilian champions Corinthians 3-2. Ex-Boca striker Tevez had a goal ruled out for offside and ex-River player Mascherano was shown a red card for 2 bookable offences. The result leaves the return leg finely balanced.

Villarreal 0 - 0 Arsenal - Paris Awaits

A rubbish game until Lehmann saved Riquelme's 89th minute penalty. The result means that Arsenal will be playing in Paris in 3 weeks time for the greatest prize in club football. Who'd have thought it!? Also we've gone 10 European games without conceding, what price 11!?

Arsenal 1-1 Tottenham - Spurs Prove Who They Really Are

ESPNsoccernet - England - Arsenal v Tottenham Report
They play unfairly and they even lie about that and I find that very disappointing. - Arsene Wenger

Earlier in the season I found myself admiring Spurs but today they've proven what a bunch of cheats they are! Disgraceful behaviour. If they need to stoop this low clearly they've not improved as a team as much as we had been lead to believe.

Poor Old Spurs call for Uefa rule change

Oh man how funny would this be? If Arsenal win the Champions League they'll take the 4th spot even if they finish 5th.

Wenger names 19-man squad for Juventus game

Arsenal.com Wenger names 19-man squad for Juventus game:

Jens LEHMANN (GK)
Abou DIABY
Robert PIRES
Fredrik LJUNGBERG
Jose Antonio REYES
Robin VAN PERSIE
Alexander HLEB
Thierry HENRY
Francesc FABREGAS
Mathieu FLAMINI
Alexandre SONG
GILBERTO
Philippe SENDEROS
Sol CAMPBELL
Manuel ALMUNIA (GK)
Emmanuel EBOUE
Kolo TOURE
Theo WALCOTT
Johan DJOUROU

My Predicted XI:

Lehmann
Eboue, Toure, Senderos, Flamini
Gilberto
Hleb, Fabregas, Pires, Reyes
Henry

With this line-up Arsenal should be able to kill Juventus on the break. One goal will be enough for Arsenal. Arsenal won't sit back but the pressure will be on Juventus to take risks and look for goals. Van Persie as a second half substitute could be very interesting, his quick feet against Juve's tired old legs.

Brown hits back at Davis in row over horror tackle

Ahhh come on Michael do you really expect us to believe that you didn't intend to hurt Sean Davis what that two footed horror tackle? Brown has a reputation of being a dirty player and tackles like this one don't help that reputation at all.

Read his excuses:

Arsenal 5 - 0 Aston Villa

Arsenal quite simply destroyed Villa this weekend. Henry was splendid yet again, Diaby did well too, Adebayor adds so much to Arsenal's game too. Arsenal were hungry even at 4-0 up. The team is growing game on game. 5-0 was a good warm up for the next 2 games... Juventus and Manchester United. Bring 'em on!
