Arsenal's New Right Back, Theo Walcott!

Arsenal.com : Wenger: 'I finished the game with five strikers on the pitch'

Arsenal thrashed Everton 1-1 at the Emirates on Saturday in yet another game where the visitors scored first and Arsenal needed to battle to grab a draw against a super defensive side.

Arsene really went for the win and by the end of the game Arsenal had five strikers on the field, one of whom was playing at 'right back'. Of course when the opposition is playing super defensive you can sacrifice a full back.

Ryan Garry - I want to get back in the first-team

Arsenal.com : Garry - I want to get back in the first-team

3 years ago it looked like Ryan Garry would be the next Ashley Cole as he made his first two appearences for the club at left-back. Then he suffered a series of shin fractures which ruled him out for a whopping 3 seasons. Thankfully Ryan is now back to fitness and has played a number of games for the reserves this season. Now he has his sights set on a return to the first team. If he makes it he'll return a whole lot more mentally tough. 3 years on the sidelines can't be easy for such a promising young player.

Another promising player coming back from injury is Abou Diaby. He spoke to Arsenal TV about his comeback. Let's hope he's back soon as he looks like a superb prospect.

Finally, Aliadiere fresh from his brace against West Brom has spoken of his desire to break back into the first team. He's the longest serving member of the Arsenal team apart from Freddie Ljungberg. Surely this season will be make or break for the not so young Frenchman. 2 goals in one start is a good way to start such an important season.

Arsenal's Future: Rebranding & Relaunch

I love writing about Arsenal but if nobody is reading it's a little pointless. There's one thing that I love to talk about more than anythingelse and that's the exciting young prospects in the Arsenal squad (reserves and youth included of course). There aren't so many sites that talk about this side of the Arsenal so that's what I've decided to do with this Arsenal blog. So from now on I'll be talking mainly if not totally about the young players who are in and around the Arsenal setup. That includes players who are out on loan and players who are linked with the club.

Aliadiere Makes His Mark

BBC SPORT : West Brom 0-2 Arsenal

Adebayor went off injured so maybe Aliadiere will get a chance in the Premiership. I'm still sure that Wenger hasn't given up on this long-term project.

Denilson in 18-man squad for trip to Moscow & Wenger watched Ramon

Arsenal.com: Denilson in 18-man squad for trip to Moscow

So Denilson is in the squad that travels to Moscow to face CSKA tomorrow, that's great news. The kids has obviously been bought to add depth to the youth talent pushing for a first team place.

Also of note is the comment that Denilson was spotted while Arsenal were scouting Ramon. Here's a little on Ramon from Futebol The Brazilian Way of Life:
"When a club the size of Atlético are experiencing hard times, it’s imperative that they boast a player of great potential within their youth ranks. The expected emergence of such a prospect will in some way, appease the demanding supporters. Thankfully for Galo, they are lucky enough to have one - and what a prospect he is. Although only 16, Ramón has shown the maturity of somebody years his senior. As well as starring for the Atlético youth sides, the teenager has also established himself as an integral part of the Brazilian under-16 side. Both Jair Picerni and his predecessor in the Atlético hot seat, Paulo Bonamigo, have predicted that he will one day play for the Brazilian national team at full international level."
As always Arsenal are keeping tabs of the best young players from around the world.

Arsenal Reserves 2 - 1 Charlton Reserves

Arsenal.com : Arsenal Reserves 2 - 1 Charlton Reserves

Arsenal and Charlton played a reserve friendly at the Colney training ground yesterday. The match gave an opportunity for a few players to pick up some match fitness including Senderos and Clichy both returning from injury. Fran Merida's reputation continues to grow with another goal. Can't wait to see if he makes an impact in the Carling Cup.
