Arsenal and Chelsea are providing 16 players each for this World Cup. Considering the vast difference in finances between the two clubs I think this says a lot about Arsene Wenger's ability to locate great young talent world wide.

Over 100 players from English clubs are named in the 2006 FIFA World Cup squads, equivalent to one in seven of the total. German clubs come a distant second with 73.

The top tier of English football are not the only suppliers however with around 12 of the 30 English clubs represented currently playing outside the Premiership.
