Newsvine - Arsenal win by 2 and Juventus lose 2

What a night! What a win for Arsenal! From the first minute Arsenal were playing like a team on a mission. Arsenal looked nervous however and a number of their midfield passes found their way to their ex-team mate Vieira. Arsenal's big break came on the 40th minute when Fabregas got booked for a foul on Vieira. Moments later Pires won the ball well from Vieira and released Henry who in turn found the forward run of Cesc making a superb run into the area. A beaufitful dummy from Cesc wrong footed Buffon allowing his shot to hit the back of the net. 1-0 and Arsenal were looking better and better. Henry went close before half time but they went in 1-0 at the break.

Second half saw more of the same from Arsenal. Juventus were trying to get something going but Arsenal's pace was too much for the Old Lady of Italian football. Juve were picking up cards for late challenges left right and centre. Fabregas did really well to setup Henry to make it 2-0. Arsenal were in control now. Vieira got his booking and misses the 2nd leg. With about 15 minutes to go Juventus left the field, mentally. Two of their players already on yellow cards decided turn yellow into red leaving Juventus with 9 men for the final few minutes. Juventus looked dazed and confused by the end.

So now Arsenal must travel to Turin next Wednesday and look for a goal to make sure of their Semi-Final place. That's 7 CL games without conceding a goal now, a wonderful run for the Gunners. Henry proved to his old club just how much their missing out on. Most of all we saw in a 90 minute spell exactly why selling Vieira was a good move by Wenger. Vieira's legs won't hold up for 90 minutes anymore and Fabregas at 18 is looking like a world beater already. How far can this young side go? We'll have to wait and see.
